Want to be remembered for your sartorial style? Elegance is an attitude, so herald your arrival with a statement necklace
GIORGIO Armani once said “elegance is not about being noticed, it’s about being remembered”. But what woman doesn’t want to be noticed?
The best way to be noticed – and remembered (sartorially speaking, of course) – is to wear something that makes a statement or becomes a talking point.
So if the new season designer bag, dress or shoes are beyond your budget, a more affordable way to make a statement is with a statement necklace. A surefire way to make a simple outfit look fabulous.
Well, truth be told, every woman needs a collection of statement pieces – necklaces, cuffs, bracelets, earrings and rings. And as the name suggests, statement (or costume) jewellery has to be big and look expensive, but it doesn’t have to cost a fortune to make an impression. Nor do they have to be real.
Dressed up for the boardroom or a night on the town, or dressed down with jeans at the weekend, a statement necklace is a great way to inject some fun and personality into your outfit. And if you want to take it up a notch, layer on with another complementary necklace or two ... a couple of large cuffs ... or with some oversized chandelier-style earrings ... or a fabulous cocktail ring (or three).
However, a word of warning: Don’t wear everything at once. Choose one or two pieces only and make a statement with them – two pieces such as cuffs and rings, rings and necklace, necklace and cuffs, cuffs and earrings.
So, go on ... make a statement!
Do you love a statement necklace? Got a favourite piece? Or even a different way of wearing them? Would love to hear from you.
